The VC-8000/SETPOINT® monitoring system from Brüel & Kjær Vibro (B&K Vibro) was selected by Williams as a replacement for their legacy machine protection system at several compressor stations. This cost-effective decision was based in part on the advanced machine condition monitoring capability that came with the system, which doesn’t even require a server or license fees.

Ensuring Reliable and Efficient Operations with Guided Wave Radar (GWR)
In the power generation industry, reliability and efficiency are critical. This case study examines a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) that supplies electricity to approximately two million households daily with a total production capacity of 1,410 megawatts. The plant operates with three Combined Cycle Units (CCUs), each comprising a steam generator with heat recovery, a gas turbine, a steam turbine, and a generator. To ensure seamless operation, the plant integrated SIL Certified AMETEK LMS Magnetrol branded Guided Wave Radar (GWR) transmitters as a key component of their level measurement strategy.

Moisture Measurement in Natural Gas: Ensuring Quality and Safety
Natural gas is a vital energy source used globally for various applications, including power generation, heating, and industrial processes. Its abundance and relatively low carbon emissions have made it a popular choice for meeting energy needs. However, to ensure the safe and efficient use of natural gas, it is essential to measure and control any impurities present in the gas that can affect the intended end use. Moisture, or water vapor, is one of the most common impurities in natural gas. In this blog, we will delve into the significance of measuring moisture in natural gas, the impact of water vapor on the properties of natural gas, the technologies used for moisture measurement, and best practices for installation and maintenance to ensure accurate readings and overall system efficiency.
Vortex Flowmeters: The Ideal Solution for Steam Flow Measurement
Vortex flowmeters are highly versatile devices that can measure the flow of liquids, gases, and steam across a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Their unique advantages make them particularly well-suited for measuring steam flow, offering benefits over other types of flowmeters.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 40 CFR Part 60 Subpart OOOO, or Quad O, is a federal regulation under the Clean Air Act for reducing harmful air quality emissions from oil and gas facilities.
The EPA issued a final rule effective May 7, 2024, containing new source performance standards (NSPS) regulating greenhouse gases (GHGs) and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions for the oil and gas industry. It also finalized guidelines for states to follow in developing their emission reduction standards for limiting fugitive emissions from existing sources.
