[Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ## Overview Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs) have become a critical part of modern upstream oil & gas operations. By capturing hydrocarbon vapors from crude oil storage tanks, operators can reduce emissions, recover valuable product, and meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations. While hydrocarbon recovery is the primary objective, oxygen contamination within the recovered gas stream presents its own set of operational challenges. Reliable oxygen measurement allows operators to identify air ingress before it impacts product quality, processing, or pipeline compliance. ### Why Monitor Oxygen? Even small amounts of oxygen entering a VRU can create significant operational issues.
